Connecting the Dots

ConnectingTheDotsArizonaI must have watched the entire “Grey’s Anatomy” series at least 10 times, I know episodes by heart, I have downloaded some of the underground music featured on the show, I know the stories, the under-stories, the possible stories. And yes, I can actually quote parts of it, those parts that really touched me.

I re-watched an episode recently in which Meredith makes the following statement: “Looking back, it’s easy to see when a mistake has been made… to regret a choice that seemed like a decent idea at the time, but if we used our best judgment and listened to our hearts, we are more likely to see that we chose wisely and avoided the deepest most pain regret of them all – the regret from letting something amazing pass you by. “

Sometimes we judge ourselves too much for the mistakes of the past, we dwell on the decisions we made or didn’t make, and all the things we really can’t do anything about in the present. While existing in the past, we miss the most important thing of all – the opportunities that are presented to us in the present. We let pass by those unbelievable people, those chances, and all the other things that we will look back on tomorrow with regret. Maybe we can’t connect the dots in the present, but we can definitely stop dwelling on the past and give the present our best chance so that whenever the dots to connect, we will look back with pride and joy instead of regret.
