Happy Birthday To Me!

“I don’t regret difficulties I experienced; I think they helped me to become the person I am today, I feel the way a warrior must feel after years of training; he doesn’t remember the details of everything he learned, but he knows how to strike when the time is right.” – Paulo Coelho

Well it’s been quite an amazing year, amazing and terrible at the same time, if I am to be honest about it. There were some hurdles, some moments that left me hopeless, that made me question humanity and my role in this world. And then there were some other moments, the ones that not only restored my faith in everything good in this universe, but also delivered above and beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Some people left, some stayed, and others just came in, all leaving their mark behind and all turning me into the warrior I am today.

To those who came, welcome. I hope you know by now that you’re in for the ride of your life, that you have gained a friend and a partner, someone who’s phone is rarely on silent, who will never screen your calls, and who will simply be there for the joys and the sorrows, for when you’ve got tears of happiness rolling down your face as well as when those tears are of sadness.

To those who stayed, I love you and treasure you, I’m grateful for your presence for your journey alongside mine, for jumping for joy with me and for being the kind hand who reached out when I didn’t feel like jumping for joy.

To all of you who have left, thank you for leaving, thank you for not rising high and showing me that not everyone is destined for greatness. And thank you for stepping back so I could follow my own dreams. I hope you’ve found your way.

I got the amazing opportunity to fulfill one of my longtime dreams this year, therefore 33 will always be remembered as the best double of my life so far, just like I declared it a year ago. As my heart is filled with joy from the most loving family Thanksgiving, one that reminded me once again about the circle that unites all of us and I look forward to a weekend-long celebration with the people dear to my heart, to step into the next year of my life, I open my heart to whatever comes my way, proud of the person I am today, grateful for the love, the people, the joy and the adventures I have in store.

Happy birthday to me! Here’s to another fantastic year full of love and accomplishments!
